Yuquijiro Yocoh was born in 1925 in the city of Hita, Japan. Because of his passion for music, he left the Keijoh Dental College in favor of studying the guitar and it’s music. As a result, he is self-taught on the guitar and in music composition. His music interests are varied and wide, resulting in original compositions and arrangements of guitar solos, ensembles, and songs with guitar accompaniment. His Theme and Variations on the Japanese folksong “Sakura” is his most famous work. It has been played and recorded by countless guitarists worldwide.
