Joep Wanders Joep Wanders studied classical guitar at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Wim Pfister, graduating in 1981. He attended master-classes given by Hubert Kappel, Roberto Aussel and others. Campomoro is a short and easy piece without any barre chords.

Chanson Du Montmartre by Maria Linnemann

Maria Linnemann was born in 1947 in Amsterdam, Holland, but grew up in England. She developed an early love for English, Scottish and Irish folklore. She studied conducting, piano and violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since 1971 she has lived in Germany, working as a composer, teacher and performer. She owes her her love for the guitar to the unforgotten guitarist, viola player and artist Martin Nicolai, who was also an excellent composer. Maria´s travels have taken her around the globe, inspiring over 500 compositions for the guitar. In 2006 she returned to Germany after spending five years teaching in China, to take up her career as a musician once more.

Canarie by Joachim van den Hove (1567-1620)

Joachim van den Hove spent his life in the Netherlands, where he was held in high regard as a lutenist, composer and teacher. He published 3 collections of lute music: Florida, Praeludia testudinis and Delitiae Musicae, from which this piece is taken. The canarie was a type of dance piece which came to Spain from the Canary Islands. Its popularity spread throughout Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries.
